Benjamin Williams, age 81, of Palestine, went to be with the Lord on Friday, the 4th day of May, 2018. He was born on the 27th day of August, 1936 in Jenkinsville, South Carolina to Odell Williams and Lila Davis Williams. Benjamin was a graduate of Inkster High School in 1955 and enlisted in the United States Army in 1956. After being honorably discharged from the service, he received a degree in Human Services from Wayne County Community College in 1974. Mr. Williams was employed by Great Lakes Steel until his retirement on March 27, 1998, after 39 ½ years with the company. He enjoyed watching western movies and listening to his favorite singer, Yolanda Adams.
Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Lila Williams; son, Antonio DeVell Williams; brother, Odell Williams.
Benjamin Williams is survived by his loving wife of 39 ½ years, Nina Williams; sons, Keith Cornell Williams, Carlos Andrew Williams, Benjamin Gerald Williams and Derrick Earl Anderson; sisters, Margaret Williams, Mary Whiten. Mr. Williams is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at three o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 10th of May, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel, where a funeral service is to commence at four o’clock. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the Reflection Room at Rhone Funeral Home.
Interment with Military Honors is to be conducted at nine o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 11th of May, at Dallas –Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
