Bobby McLaughlin “Bobby Mac”, age 75, of Palestine, departed this life to be in the arms of the Lord on Friday, the 8th day of March, 2019, at Palestine Regional Medical Center. He was born on the 9th day of May, 1943 in Leeds, Alabama, to Noel McLaughlin and Lucile Kline McLaughlin. Mr. McLaughlin had a deep commitment to the Lord and was a member of Christ Community Church of Palestine. He was a dedicated family man, who deeply loved his late wife Bobbie and his grandkids. Mr. McLaughlin was an avid fisherman and was featured as “Angler of the Year” in Bass Masters Magazine.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bobbie Jean McLaughlin; son, Jason McLaughlin; son, Lindy Melton and daughter-in-law, Pam Melton.
Mr. McLaughlin is survived by his daughters, Stacey McLaughlin, Karen Butler and Cynthia Winarski; son, Dennis Melton and wife Peggy; sisters, Frances McElroy and Marie Goodwin; brother, Joe McLaughlin; brother-in-law, L.A. Seabourne and wife Bonnie; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 14th day of March, in the parlor and reflection room of Rhone Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Bobby McLaughlin will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 15th day of March, 2019 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Clint Bass officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Percilla.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Blake Szabo, Kelsey Whitehead, Gordon Bass, Steve Presley, Mark Perez and Roy McLaughlin.
