Carrie Sue (Reed) Callaway

Carrie Sue Callaway, age 58, of Palestine, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, the 22nd day of December, 2018.  She breathed her last breath at The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler surrounded by her loving and devoted family.   Carrie was born in Seattle, Washington on the 12th day of August, 1960, to Gary Reed and Faye Johnson Reed.  Carrie attended Calvary Christian Church in Oakwood and had a big heart.   She loved her family and friends dearly.  Carrie was a wonderful mother and devoted her life to the wellbeing of her children.  Even though she left this world too soon, her life will live on in the memories of those who love her.  

Carrie is preceded in death by her father, Gary Reed; mother, Faye Lucas and step-father, Raymond Lucas.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Sesters and husband Josh of Brushy Creek; son, Chris Callaway of Grapeland; sister, Denise Langley; brothers, Lonnie Lucas, Dennis Sanford, Harrison Sanford; granddaughter, Savannah Sesters; boyfriend, Everret Thomas; and father of her children, Henry Callaway.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 26th day of December, 2018 in the Parlor of Rhone Funeral Home.  

A funeral service and celebration of Carrie Callaway’s life will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 27th day of December, 2018 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Branden Szabo officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Percilla.  

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Shawn Lucas, Shane Lucas, Steven Callaway, Mike Mahoney, J.D. Lively and Brandon Beddo.
