Freddy Joe Freeman, age 74, of Palestine, passed from this life on Wednesday, the 2nd day of May, 2018, surrounded by his family. Fred was born on 4th day of July, 1943, in Terrell, Texas to O’Joe Freeman and Pebble Webb Freeman. Fred grew up in Garland, Texas. He graduated from Garland High School and attended North Texas State. He was a lover of horses and always had horses in his life. He was an excellent horseman and trained many horses throughout his life. He and his wife, Beth, moved to Palestine in 1981, where he had room for horses and cattle. He taught his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to ride horses. He loved his wife, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly and was loved by them. Fred was a member of Crockett Road Church of Christ where he dedicated his life as a faithful servant of God. He was a kind man who loved to help widows in need.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jay Michael Freeman. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Beth) Brumley Freeman; sons Kenneth Troy Attaway and wife Tina, Jeffery Craig Attaway and wife Elizabeth, all of Palestine; grandchildren, Matthew Attaway and wife Stacey of Forney, Texas, Kylie Attaway Battie and husband Taylor of Vacaville, California, Nathan Attaway of Waco, Texas, Briley Attaway Pruitt and husband Adam of The Woodlands, Texas, Monica and Grant Attaway of Palestine; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Hailey, and Karley Attaway of Forney, Texas, Joe Allen, Juilet, and Jaxon Pruitt of The Woodlands, Texas; sister, Cherry Freeman of Garland, Texas; brother-in-law, William(Bud) Brumley and wife Marilyn of Aledo, Texas; brother-in-law, Joel Brumley and wife Jane of Palestine; sister-in-law, Lynda Brumley Allen and husband Dennis of Weatherford, Texas; sister-in-law, Dorris Brumley of Palestine, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A memorial service celebrating Fred’s life is to be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 12th of May at Crockett Road Church of Christ in Palestine with Dan Manuel officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
