Iva Nell (Kyle) Lock

Iva Nell Lock, of Elkhart, Texas departed this life to be in the presence of the Lord on Friday, the 28th day of December, 2018.  Mrs. Lock passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at TruCare Living Center in Palestine at the age of 88.  She was born on the 28th day of August, 1930 in Grapeland, Texas to Johnson D. “J.D.” Kyle and Iva Louise Shaver Kyle.  Mrs. Lock married the love of her life, Edwin Earl Lock, on the 1st of June, 1947 and became a devoted wife and homemaker.  She enjoyed cooking and music, specifically singing.  Her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her.   

She is preceded in death by her parents, J.D and Iva Kyle and husband of 63 years, Edwin Earl Lock.

Mrs. Lock is survived by her daughter, Becky Louise Lock Welborn and husband Dr. Wesley Welborn of Elkhart; son, Kyle Lock and wife Deanna of Elkhart; grandchildren, Breanna Michelle Hancock and husband Glenn, Janae Kristen Evans and husband Austin, Jonathan Wesley Welborn and wife Malika, Iva Kathleen Haynes and husband John Haynes, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Wesley Ezekiel Haynes, Gabriel Kyle Haynes, Michael Wesley Welborn, Kamilla Alexis Welborn, Daniel James Welborn, Mara Brynne Jones, Madilyn Grace Jones, Maegan Embry Jones, Adalee Jayne Hancock, Elijah Glenn Hancock, Decie Marie Hancock, Johnathan Brett Hancock, Joshua Malone Hancock, Delaney Mae Hancock, Daisy Makayla Hancock, Brock Carter Evans, Axton Kyle Evans and Crew Jameson Evans.

Funeral services for Iva Nell Lock will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 2nd day of January, 2019 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Dr. Wesley Welborn, Kathleen Haynes and Dan Manuel officiating.  Interment will follow immediately after in Evergreen Cemetery in Percilla, Texas.

Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family one hour prior to service, beginning at one o’clock at Rhone Funeral Home.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Austin Evans, Glenn Hancock, Jerry Woody, Dale Sparks, Jonathan Welborn, Kenneth Skidmore, Stanley Skidmore and Gerald Skidmore.
