Jimmie Sue Minter, age 75, of Grapeland, Texas passed away on the 26th day of September, 2018 at her home under the care of Solaris Hospice. Jimmie was born on the 27th day of September 1942 to parents Olene and J.W. Dorn in Grapeland. She was a R.N. and worked in the local hospitals and nursing homes for years. She spent fifteen years working as a hospice nurse for Hospice of East Texas of Tyler. She was a member of Sunset Christian Church in Grapeland. She loved gardening and canning vegetables from her garden. She loved flowers in her yard, and she turned her yard into a wonderful garden of flowers. You could always find her out in the yard when she was able to tend each flower.
Jimmie is predeceased by her husband W.L. Minter; parents, Olene and J.W. Dorn; sister Wilma Lee Dorn; and oldest son, Terry Warren Minter.
Jimmie is survived by sons, Waymon Todd Minter and Lee Minter of Grapeland. She is also survived by sister, Glenda Christ of Grapeland; grandchildren, LeeAnna (Jamie) Frizzell of Ft. Worth, Niki (Chris) Boatright of Dallas, Terry (Brandy) Minter of Whitehouse, Justin (Nycole) Minter of Centerville, and Shane Minter of Tyler; great grandchildren, Angelina Sanchez, Jaslyn Sanchez, Jamie Sanchez, PhiPhi Dewitt, Alex Minter, Anna Rayne Minter, Skye Minter and Aurora Minter, Brady and Eryn Minter; niece, Rhonda (Mitch) Vasseur and Becki (Charles) Robertson; brother-in-law, Julian (Jean) Minter of Grapeland; and special helpers, Sheri Hargraves and Sherry Hopson.
Funeral services for Jimmie Minter will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 1st day of October, 2018 at Sunset Christian Church with Dr. Vance Drum officiating. Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery, Hwy 227 East, in Grapeland, Texas.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family which will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
