Retired Police Officer Jimmy L. Hobson, age 68, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away to his heavenly home on Friday, the 13th day of July, 2018 in Nacogdoches at Nacogdoches Medical Center. He was born in Palestine, Texas to Lunsford Hobson and Gladys Collins Hobson on the 14th day of July, 1949. Jimmy was a United States Army Veteran who served in Korea. After serving our country, Jimmy retired from the Houston Police Department after 36 years as an officer. Jimmy loved to fish, hunt and play golf. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lunsford and Gladys Hobson and daughter, Carrie Ann Hobson.
Mr. Hobson is survived by his son, Jeff Hobson of Tyler, Texas; brother, John E. Hobson and wife Nancy of Grapeland, Texas. He also leaves behind numerous cousins and other family members.
Funeral services for Jimmy L. Hobson will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 23rd day of July, 2018 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Davy Hobson and the Houston Police Department Honor Guard officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Providence Cemetery in Elkhart, Texas. Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
