Joe Douglas Nash, age 80, of Tennessee Colony, was called home on Tuesday, the 15th day of January, 2019 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. He was born on the 3rd day of July, 1938 in Rotan, Texas to Tommy Nash and Martha Nash. After graduating college, Mr. Nash went on to work in the oil field industry until his retirement. He enjoyed his quiet life living in the country with his wife. Mr. Nash had a passion for children. He was an active member of Southside Baptist Church where he enjoyed working with the children’s ministry. He was a selfless and giving man who will be missed by so many people in the community.
Mr. Nash is preceded in death by his parents; son, Joe Nash, Jr.; and brother, Tommy Nash.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 35 years, Nancy Nash; daughters, Melanie Painter and husband David of Groveton, Texas, Donna Hansen and husband Mogens of Livingston, Texas, Germaine Guerra and husband Jerry of Katy, Texas; son, Mike Bevans and wife Melanie of Manvel, Texas; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Joe Nash will be at two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 17th day of January, 2019 at Southside Baptist Church with Bro. David English and Jerry Neel officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the commencement of service.
Graveside service will be at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 19th day of January, 2019 at Forest Hill Memorial Park Midtown, 1661 Elvis Presley Blvd., Memphis, Tennessee.
