Joe Wayne Redding, age 84, of Oakwood, Texas, passed away on Saturday, the 1st day of December, 2018. He was born in Oakwood, Texas on the 10th day of February, 1934 to Robert “Bob” Redding and Addie Lee Redding. Mr. Redding enjoyed the outdoors and was lucky enough to make a career being in the open air as a custom farmer and cattle rancher. Mr. Redding was passionate about hunting and fishing which lead him to take multiple trips to Colorado.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Addie Redding; sister, Marie Crawford; and daughter-in-law, Melinda Redding.
Mr. Redding is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ann Redding; son, Michael Redding and wife Stacy of Irving, Texas; daughter, Becky Barrilleaux and husband Glen of Oakwood, Texas; son, Bob Redding of Houston, Texas; sister, Robbie Eldridge of Oakwood, Texas; grandchildren, Caleb Barrilleaux, Brooke Barrilleaux, Canaan Barrilleaux, Guy Redding, Ethan Redding, Elizabeth Redding; great-grandchildren, Brandelyn, Bristyn, Cason, Hadli, Bostyn, Pailyn and one on the way.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 6th day of December, 2018 in the Reflection Room and Parlor of Rhone Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Joe Redding will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 7th day of December, 2018 at Oakwood Church of Christ with James Haynes, Jr. and Steve Torno officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Bradley Haley, Danny Wallace, Brian Wallace, Mark Coates, Terry Coates, Milton Campbell, Matthew Torno, Joe Bing and Sammy Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Gore, Mack Gore, Jim Bob Stroud, David Green, Pat Timpani and Doug Sumrall.
