Juanita Huff Obituary

Juanita Pearl Taylor Huff was born to Obadiah and Emma Pearl Bennett Taylor on the 15th day of April, 1925 in Elkhart, Texas.  She passed away peacefully on the 8th day of April, 2019 in Lake Jackson, Texas, just one week shy of her 94th birthday.  She lived in Elkhart and Grapeland all her life until moving to Lake Jackson in November 2014.  Juanita married Luther Fagan Huff in 1941. After marrying, they settled in Grapeland, Texas.  Juanita was a member of the Grapeland First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, fishing and gardening.  Juanita was “Mamaw” to everyone. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she enjoyed spending time with each of them.  Mamaw loved to sit and watch The Bill Gaither Gospel Hour, singing right along with all the hymns; she watched Mayberry RFD and Gunsmoke and was the sweetest woman on the planet. Mamaw had great wit and a beautiful spirit, and she will be missed by all of us.

Luther Fagan passed away in December of 2008, after 67 years of marriage.  Juanita moved to Lake Jackson, Texas in November of 2014 and was there until her death after a lengthy bout with dementia and alzheimer's.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, her 5 brothers and 3 sisters, her husband Fagan, her son in law, Michael Grayson and one grandson, Christopher Michael Grayson.

Juanita is survived by her 4 children, Barbara Faye Estes and her husband Sherman of Lake Jackson, Texas; Deborah Jo Grayson of Houston, Texas;   Rajah Huff and his wife Marilou of Longstreet, Louisiana; Sheldon Huff and his wife Debbie of Grapeland.  12 grandchildren, Leigh Ann Estes, Redonda Estes Buckner, Tonya Estes Robertson, Jeff Jones, Michael Shane Grayson, Chad Huff, Phillip Huff, Kristina Huff, Chasity Huff, Dustin Huff, Christopher Huff and Shane Huff; 19 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great Grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Juanita’s life is to be conducted on the 14th day of April at 3 o’clock in the afternoon in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Grapeland with Bro. Arthur Betz officiating. Interment will follow in Dailey Cemetery.   Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jeff Jones, Michael Shane Grayson, Chad Huff, Phillip Huff, Dustin Huff, Christopher Huff, Shane Huff and Jared Robertson
