Larry Soucy, age 72, of Palestine, departed this life on Monday, the 3rd day of September, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on the 2nd day of April, 1946 in Van Buren, Maine to Willie Soucy Jr. and Marie Gagnon Soucy. Larry served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam and Desert Storm Wars and retired after 27 years of service. After returning home, he began his career as a diesel mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Larry was a caring man who loved to talk politics. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Marie Gagnon; daughter, Kelly Robinson and several brothers and sisters.
Larry Soucy is survived by his adoring wife, Betty Soucy of Palestine; foster parents, Sydney and Mary West; daughters, Sandie Ray Nelson and husband Rob, Cathy Bleivens, Misty Wiegel, Summer LaMaster; sons, William Bryan Underwood, Dennis Benton, Curtis Beamer; brother, Willie Soucy and wife Carrol; half-brother, David Gagnon; granddaughters, Betty LaMaster, Mili McKenzie and 30 other grandchildren. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Shirley Soucy and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 11th day of September, 2018 at Denson Springs Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Frazier officiating.
