Madeline M. “Scooter” Garrison, age 88, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully and was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, the 23rd day of June, 2018. She was born on the 26th day of December, 1929 in Houston County, Texas to William R. Dunnam and Orlene Keen Dunnam. Scooter attended Elkhart Schools and had many friends in the community. She worked as a beautician for over 20 years. She was a member of the Elkhart United Methodist Church and faithful Christian who loved the Lord. Scooter loved to cook and care for people. She was a volunteer for the local hospital for 20 years and enjoyed hosting family gatherings.
She is preceded in death by her parents William and Orlene Dunnam; first husband, Isaac Peyton Myers; second husband, Devoin E. Garrison; sister, Vivian Vaughan; brothers, Ennis Dunnam, Harry Dunnam and Larry Dunnam.
Scooter is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, step-daughters, step-grandchildren and other family.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 26th day of June, 2018 in the Parlor and Reflection Room of Rhone Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Madeline “Scooter” Garrison will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 27th day of June, 2018 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Mike Dunnam and Rev. Carmen Rickel officiating. The interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Percilla, Texas.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Bill Dunnam, Mike Dunnam, Kenneth Dunnam, William Vaughn, Joe Myers and Charles Keen.
