Mary R. Hinson, age 86, of Palestine, went to be with the Lord on Friday, the 30th day of March, 2018. Mary was born on the 14th day of January, 1932 in Memphis, Tennessee to James G. Holley and Alma Johnson Holley. Mary’s pride and joy were her grandkids. She loved them dearly. Mary was a familiar and friendly face at Kroger’s, from where she retired. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Palestine and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alma Holley; husband, David L. Hinson, Sr.; 4 sisters and 5 brothers.
Mary Hinson is survived by her daughter, Gaye Karriker and husband Jerry, Jr. of Palestine, Texas; son, David L. Hinson, Jr. of Palestine, Texas; sister, Shirley King and husband Johnny of Hahira, Georgia; brother, Cleburn O. Holley of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Rachel Pena and husband Sergio, Codye Facio and husband Javi, J.R. Karriker, III and wife Andrea, Beth Ray; great-grandchildren, Brayden Gruetzner, Jayden Lann, Corbyn Ray, Macie Facio, Lexie Facio, Allyson Karriker, Ethan Karriker and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Mary Hinson will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday the 7th day of April, 2018 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. John Marcum officiating. At a later date, the family will gather for a private interment at Ferguson Cemetery. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family one hour prior to service beginning at one o’clock at Rhone Funeral Home.
