Randy Clayton

Randy Amon Clayton, age 56, of Elkhart, entered eternal rest on Friday, the 9th day of August, 2019.  He was born on the 17th day of February, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, to Thomas Gene Clayton and Jerry Lou Alexander Clayton.

Randy was the manager at McCoy’s Building Supply in Palestine for the past six years.  He took great pride in the work he did at McCoy’s and he believed working there made him a better man.  Randy never forgot where he came from and looked forward to where he was headed.

He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, poker, singing karaoke, riding his John Deere Mower, bonfires, long naps and most of all, his family and friends.  He had a quick wit and sense of humor that drew you to him.  He was the life of the party!  Randy and Stephanie were baptized together on November 22, 2009, by Bro. Tommy Oglesby at South Jefferson Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Randy left behind, Stephanie, his wife of 23 years; father, Thomas Gene Clayton of Mabank, Texas; daughter, Elizabeth and Bruce Wren of Leonard, Texas, their children, Hunter and Madison; daughter, Kimberly and Justin Diering of Leonard, Texas, their children, Violet and Asher; daughter, Emylee Clayton of Elkhart, Texas; 3 grandchildren by his oldest daughter Tiffany, Tyler, Jocelyn and Hannah of Leonard, Texas; sister, Teresa and Bill Vitallero of Mabank, Texas; brother, Thomas and Brandie of Leonard, Texas; sister, Frances and Bill Cherry of Dallas, Texas; and nephew, Robert and Charlie Clayton of Princeton, Texas.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jerry Lou Alexander of Leonard, Texas; stepmother, Angie Clayton of Mabank, Texas; daughter, Tiffany Clayton of Tool, Texas; brother, Tony Clayton of Leonard, Texas; and nephew, Junior Vitallero of Mabank, Texas.

Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family and share memories from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Friday, the 16th day of August, 2019 in the Parlor and Reflection Room of Rhone Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Randy Clayton will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 17th day of August, 2019 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Tommy Oglesby officiating. 

Graveside services will be held at four o’clock in the afternoon, following the funeral service, at Leonard Cemetery in Leonard, Texas with Charles Wren officiating.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Gary McCalley, Marcos Navarro, Bryant Gilmore, Joe Williams, Tim Myers and Kenny Bammel.
