Stephen Anthony Severn, age 74, of Palestine, passed away on the 21st day of November, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on the 1st day of October, 1945, in Foreman, Arkansas, to Walter Beck Severn and Emma Jane Madden Severn.
Stephen was a member of Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood. He also was a Vietnam Marine Veteran and worked as a State Trooper in Anderson County for 30 years. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans-Dogwood Chapter #991 and helped start the Honor Guard. Stephen enjoyed fishing, woodworking and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Emma Severn; daughter, Angela Severn; sister, Sally Hunkapillar; and brother, Howard Severn.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Severn; father-in-law, Clifton E. Taylor; sons, Charles Melton Severn, Walter Shawn Severn, Aaron Gene Severn and Cassandra, all of Palestine; sisters, Sharon Severn of Texarkana, Karen Sinclair of Mount Pleasant; brothers, Mike Severn of Foreman, Arkansas, Billy Severn of Gladewater, Texas; grandchildren, Angela Severn, Dalton Severn and Gus Severn. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and a host of friends.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Stephen, will be hosted by the family at ten o’clock in the morning, on Saturday, the 23rd day of November, 2019, at Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood with Bro. Jack Smith officiating.
A private family burial will be held at a later date in Roselawn Park.
