Tina (McKay) Pernell

Tina Pernell, age 63, of Palestine, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, the 20th day of August, 2019.  She was born on the 16th day of May, 1956, Wichita Falls, Texas to Phillip McKay and Wanda Jo Atkins McKay. 

Tina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, family member and friend.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She loved her dogs and her favorite hobby was crafting.  Tina took pleasure in spending her free time creating jewelry, wreaths or painting.  She has a room in her home filled with her artwork.   

She is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Wanda McKay; sister, Patricia Alford; brother, Rocky McKay; and brother-in-law, Ed Yoder.

Tina is survived by her husband of 38 years, John Pernell; daughter, Robyn Collins; sons, John “J.T.” Pernell and wife Nicole, Lance Wayne Pernell and wife Jodie; sisters, Pam Yoder, Terri Arnold and husband Allan, Kristi Schales and husband Bill, Kelly Land and husband Roy; brother, Scott McKay and wife Leslie; brother-in-law, Bruce Alford; grandchildren, Isaiah Bruey, Elijah Bruey, Judah Pernell, Paris Pernell, Gabriel Pernell and Aine Pernell.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends. 

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Tina Pernell will be conducted at four o’clock in the afternoon, on Saturday, the 24th day of August, 2019, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Pastor Danny Rodriguez officiating.  Interment will follow in Roselawn Park.      

Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family and share memories of Tina one hour prior to the service.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Tina’s nephews; Clint Alford, Casey Alford, David Alford, Richard Pernell, Jerrid McKay and Phil McKay.  Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Walker, Jimmy Meredith, Monte Cain, Herman Linam and Michael Mendez.
