Amelia “Mimi” Peterson, of Palestine, Texas, went home to be with her loving Lord and Savior on Thursday, the 16th day of October 2025, surrounded by the warmth of her family. She was 80 years of age when the Lord called her home. Mimi was born in Washington, D.C. on the 15th day of December 1944 to parents Adam Armstrong and Theresa Stephens.
Mimi's love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life. She lived her faith through her actions, always extending a hand of kindness and a spirit of generosity to those around her. Mimi’s love for children was evident to all who knew her. She had a special way of making each child feel cherished and important. Her legacy will live on in all the lives she touched.
Mimi was a master seamstress whose hands lovingly crafted many wedding dresses and crocheted beautiful aphgans, each stitch or pattern a testament to her dedication to her art. She loved being able to share her talent with her family and friends. Mimi enjoyed gardening and making sure her yard was impeccable.
Left to cherish the memories are her loving husband Benjamin William Peterson; daughter, Becky Goodman and husband Darren; sons, William L. Peterson and wife Thuy, and Michael K. Peterson and wife Gretchen; daughter in love, Tracy Benge; brother, C. Daniel Armstrong and wife Shelley. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Each of them will carry a piece of their grandma in their hearts forever.
Mimi is preceded in death by her parents Adam and Theresa Armstrong.
A private graveside service to celebrate Mimi’s life is to be conducted at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Elkhart Texas.
