Curt Walker, of Point Blank, Texas, is now singing with the angels in Heaven. Mr. Walker passed away at Brookdale Senior Living in Palestine, on Thursday, the 7th day of January 2021, at the age of 73. He was born on the 21st day of August 1947, in Houston, Texas, to parents Arthur Curtis Walker and June Cherry Walker.
Mr. Walker was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and always considered it his home. During Mr. Walker’s sophomore year of high school, he wanted to better his life and enrolled in New Mexico Military Institute, also known as “The West Point of the West.” The schools structured learning environment and challenging academics helped prepare Mr. Walker for his future endeavors. After graduating from New Mexico Military Institute, Mr. Walker attended the University of Houston. He later went on to become a radio technician and operator. He retired from Continental Airlines as a sonar technician after many years of service. Mr. Walker was very smart and had a witty personality. He was a “life learner” always reading and wanting to know more. He spent a lot of his free time researching genealogy. Mr. Walker was a member of Point Blank Community Church and devoted his life to the Lord.
Mr. Walker is survived by his loving and caring family including his sister, LaNell Waters and husband Dan of Palestine; niece, Treva Barham and husband Russell of Longview; and great-nephews, Aiden, Liam, Straton, and Paxton. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and June Walker.
The family will have a memorial service at Point Blank Community Church to honor Curt’s life at a later date.
