Barbara Berneice (Weeks) Huddleston

Barbara Berneice Huddleston was surrounded by her loving family when she left this world for her eternal home in Heaven on Wednesday, the 14th day of October 2020.  She was 88 years of age.  Mrs. Huddleston was born in De Queen, Arkansas, on the 23rd day of March 1932, to parents Harold Weeks and Beulah Patterson Weeks.

Mrs. Huddleston will be dearly missed by her adoring family.  She was their biggest supporter in all their endeavors; always putting her family first.  However, when she was not taking care of her family, Mrs. Huddleston found pleasure in cooking, crocheting, reading, and working puzzles.  Mrs. Huddleston and her husband, A. L., enjoyed spending evenings dancing and listening to music together.  Mrs. Huddleston was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and Walston Springs Baptist Church.  Her love for the Lord was apparent in everything she endured in life and she always kept a loving and joyful spirit. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Beulah Weeks; husband, A. L. Huddleston; son, Martin Harold Huddleston; brothers, Harold Weeks, Jr., Edward Weeks; and granddaughter, Holly Jackson.

Mrs. Huddleston is survived by her large and loving family; daughter, Janet Morrow of Palestine; sons, Bobby Al Huddleston and wife Edwina of Palestine, William D. Huddleston and wife Kathy of Las Vegas; daughter-in-law, Sandy Huddleston Cretsinger of Slocum; sister, Babe Cobb; brother, William “Bill” Weeks; twelve grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Huddleston is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening, on Sunday, the 18th day of October 2020, at Rhone Funeral Home.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Barbara Huddleston is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning, on Monday, the 19th day of October, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jamie Hogan and Bro. Rodney Weeks officiating.  Interment will follow in Ferguson Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Mrs. Huddleston’s grandsons, John Robert Huddleston, Martin A. L. Huddleston, Terry Huddleston, Justin Huddleston, Tavaris Williams and Demarkus Ray.  Honorary pallbearers will be Chase Huddleston and Drew Wall.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions in Mrs. Huddleston’s memory can be directed towards Solaris Hospice, 2250 South FM 51, Suite 400, Decatur, Texas 76234.
