Betty Lee Hamilton

Betty Lee Hamilton, age 86, of Warren, Texas, departed this life for her home in Heaven on Monday, the 2^nd day of January 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. Hamilton was born in Red Oak, Oklahoma, on the 4^th day of February 1936, to parents Tillman Clay and Ellen Norris Clay.

Mrs. Hamilton grew up in Cleveland, Texas.  After meeting the love of her life, she settled in Jacksonville, Texas.  Mrs. Hamilton was a loving mother who found great joy in raising her family. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and cooking at all the family gatherings.  She had a heart of gold and a loving spirit. Through the years she enjoyed canning from her husband’s garden, and she always kept her house impeccable. Before her health declined you could find Mrs. Hamilton playing card games on her computer.

Mrs. Hamilton was also an active member of the Eastern Star in Jacksonville until she moved to Southeast Texas. She was a true blessing to her family and friends and will be greatly missed.   

Mrs. Hamilton joins in Heaven her parents Tillman and Ellen Clay; husband, Floyd Willard Hamilton; sisters, Midge Tullos, and Marvine Purkeson; and her brothers, Bill Brewer, Charles Brewer, and Jesse Miller.

Mrs. Hamilton will live in the hearts of her loving family including her children, Gerald Hamilton and wife Marla, Linda Duck and husband Tom, David Hamilton and wife Maria, and Bobby Hamilton and wife Angela; seventeen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate Betty Hamilton’s life is to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 7^th day of January 2023 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow in New Emmaus Cemetery in New Summerfield, Texas.

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Rhone Funeral Home.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Brenden Hamilton, Greg Hamilton, Jacob Beshears, Mack Reagan, Paul Reagan, and Collin Whitworth.
