Betty Jean Thomas

Betty Jean Thomas, of Palestine, Texas, passed away in a tragic accident on Sunday, the 29th day of June 2025 at the age of 24. She was born on the 17th day of February 2001 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia to Laurie Steele Beyersdofer. Betty was a strong believer and is now at home with our Lord.

Betty was a woman of dedication, as evidenced by her academic pursuits. At the time of her passing, she was enrolled at Trinity Valley Community College, working tirelessly toward her associate in business finance. She was involved in Rock Bottom Ranch, where she loved to serve. Betty's presence was a gift; she was the unique spark that could brighten any room she entered.

Betty loved the beach, and she found peace in the waves and the warmth of the sun on her skin. It was her get away, a place where she could reflect and find peace. Her love for music was just as profound, with melodies and rhythms that resonated with her soul, often leading her to share her favorite tunes with friends and family. Her kindness was not just a trait but a way of life, as she approached each day with a heart full of compassion. Betty will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mom Laurie Beyersdofer.

Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her siblings, Felicia Beyersdofer, George Beyersdofer and wife Ivy, and Emmanuel Zuniga. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Funeral services to commemorate the life of Betty Thomas will be held at 10:00 AM on July 7, 2025, at Evangelistic Temple, located at 3011 N Loop 256, Palestine, Texas. The service will be officiated by Bro. Kevin Willmott.

A private family graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas.

Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at the church.
