Our beloved Billy Calvin Lusk, age 68, of Tennessee Colony, entered Heavens Gates, on Friday, the 2nd day of April 2021. Born on the 22nd day of January 1953, in Rusk, Texas, Billy spent 18 years working at Vulcraft and 10 years working at Wal-Mart Warehouse 6036. He could do anything including welding and carpentry. However, his true love was traveling the United States with his wife. When he was not traveling, Billy could be found in his shop out back with coffee in his hand. He did not believe in “scrap wood”, just pieces not yet used. Billy wore many hats, but his proudest role was that of being a husband, dad, and Papaw. Billy was a Baptist who loved the Lord and devoted much of his time working with the youth for several years.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents Martin Lusk and Nina Twitty; sisters, Myritta Templin and Shelia Cox; brothers, Raymond Lusk, Fagan Lusk and Shorty Lusk; and grandchildren, Kalista and Austin.
Billy leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Joy Lusk; daughter, Debbie Smith and husband Garrett of Waxahachie; son, Scotty Lusk and wife Stephanie of Burleson; sisters, Lavitta Fawcett and Lucille Sword; and brother, Nat Lusk. Also left to cherish Billy’s memory are his loving grandchildren, Kaleigh, Sierra, Kelsey, and Shania; great-grandchildren, Charleigh, Ace and Zoey; and a host of other family and friends.
A reception and visitation to honor Billy Lusk’s life will be held from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening on Monday, the 5th day of April 2021 at Rhone Funeral Home. Friends are invited to come and share memories of Billy with the family during an evening of reflection and love.
Billy will be cremated and at a later date the family will gather for a private burial in the Parker Cemetery in Grapeland, Texas.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions in Billy Lusk’s memory can be directed towards a charity of your choice.
