Billy “Bill” Gene Meador, age 78, of Grapeland, Texas, left this world for his home in Heaven on Tuesday, the 2nd day of August 2022. Mr. Meador was born in Oklahoma on the 5th day of June 1944 to parents Joseph Benjamin Meador and Helen Annie Lou McCauley Meador.
Mr. Meador retired from Vulcraft as a machinist after many years. He was very skilled in the trade and could fix just about anything. After retiring, he was able to spend more time doing the things he truly loved. Every weekend he would organize get togethers with his family at the lake. He always enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Fishing and hunting were also two hobbies that Mr. Meador appreciated.
Most importantly, Mr. Meador was a Christian who loved the Lord. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Grapeland and a member of the Grapeland Masonic Lodge. Mr. Meador was loved by many families and friends and his legacy will live on forever.
In Heaven, Mr. Meador joins his parents Joseph and Helen Meador; wife, Margaret Benge Meador; brothers, Robert “Bob” Meador and James Earl Meador; sister, Nadine Meador; and son-in-law, Doug Holley.
Mr. Meador will continue to live in the hearts of his daughters, Lisa Hagins and husband Shannon of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Kimberly Holley of Grapeland, Texas; sons, James Meador and wife Amy of Slocum, Texas, Jason Meador and wife Melisa of Redtown, Texas; sister, JoAnn Boyce and husband Jerry, Jainie Matthews; brother, Floyd Meador; grandchildren, Jessica Brown, Emiley Hagins, Katie Morgan, Brittney Hagins, Joseph Meador, Micah Meador, Hailey Meador, and Hunter Meador. Mr. Meador also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Mallorie, McKenzie, Price, Laney, Casen, Emma, Noah, Jerimiah, Brooks, Levi, and one on the way.
The family will host a celebration of life service to honor Mr. Meador at ten o’clock in the morning, on Saturday, the 6th day of August 2022 at “The Homestead”, the home of Keith and Katie Morgan, 2672 CR 2330, Grapeland, Texas 75844.
Following the service, there will be a “potluck” luncheon, and all are invited to attend.
