Bobby Lynn Gibson, age 55, of Long Lake, Texas went home to be with the Lord and his daddy on Wednesday the second day of October 2024. Bobby G was born on September 19,1969, in San Antonio, Texas to Bobby and Patricia Gibson. He spent his early childhood in Noonday before moving to Long Lake in 1980. He graduated from Westwood High School in 1989 and spent the last 8 years happily employed at Tony Winkel Construction. He also loved his time working aboard a tugboat and enjoyed many years working as a swabber at Mustang Oilfield Services. Bobby G was the kind of person who never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face and could make anyone laugh with one of his iconic freestyles or signature catchphrases.
Bobby G spent his youth running around, causing trouble in Long Lake with a group of friends that were more like brothers. He was devoted to many hobbies throughout his life, including football and baseball, dirt track racing, league bowling, RC car racing, fishing trips to Galveston and video games, but none more important than iRacing. He enjoyed weekly family dinners on Wednesdays, as long as he made it home in enough time for his iRacing league. He loved lake days, spending the day playing cornhole and washers, hitting golf balls across the lake, trick riding jet skis, doing backflips off the rope swing, but most importantly, spending time with his beloved friends and family.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father Bobby Frank Gibson and nephew Jeremiha Bailey.
Bobby is survived by his wife Loria Gibson, mother Patricia Vaughn, brother Stacy (Chili Bowl) Gibson and wife Lorna, sister Angela Coleman and husband Danny, daughter Shelby Gibson, son Devin Gibson, and bonus children Hope Jerome, Jason (Eric) Barnes and Amanda Barnes. He is also survived by his nieces Tonya Powell, Abbie Coleman, Marina Powell, and Mandy Coleman, and his granddaughter Maisie Barnes, and by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was a devoted Papa G, Dad, and Uncle Bobby to many.
