Brent Leroy Holt, age 68, of Palestine, Texas, passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, the 17th day of November 2021. Mr. Holt was born in Garnett, Kansas, on the 31st day of December 1952, to parents Donald Earl Holt and Phyllis Xenia Munkress.
Mr. Holt was raised in Kansas and joined the United States Navy after his high school graduation. During his tour in Vietnam, he performed aerial surveillance photography for the Navy. Upon returning from war, Mr. Holt made a career in insurance sales, management, and training. He retired after 40 years. During his retirement, he taught concealed handgun classes for Texas Trident Firearms Academy. Mr. Holt loved spending time out in the country farming and gardening. He always had a good joke to tell and relished in making people laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Phyllis Holt and his brother, Rodney Bruce Holt.
Mr. Holt is survived by his wife Donna Edmundson Holt; daughters, Ashley Brent Holt Sober and husband Zach, Aubrey Holt; stepdaughter, Jaime Marguarite Edmundson and husband Nathan Sturrock; sons, Phillip Jarrod Holt and Rodney Erin Holt; stepsons, Kenneth Roy Edmundson and Brian Kotzot; sister, Linda Erlene Sumner; and his grandchildren, Halen Cadence Holt, Reagan Kaye Rowton, Carter Wayne Sturrock and Riley Jean Sturrock.
Mr. Holt’s wishes were to be cremated and the family will have a private service in Kansas at a later date.
