Candace Michelle Reed came into this world prematurely at 36 weeks on October 9,1985. Candace, also known as “Candy”, left this earthly body too soon at 36 years on December 1, 2021.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray and Elaine Lively, and Glenn Morris Reed; one uncle, Don Lively; and her brother, David Glenn Reed.
She is survived by her parents, David and Darla Reed, of Palestine; one daughter, Layla Brooke Paul and one fur baby, “Tippy”; one live-in nephew, David Grey Reed; nephew, Landon Phillips; sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Brian Luckett and nieces and nephew, Benjamin Luckett, Charlotte Luckett, Sarah Luckett, and Natalie Luckett. Candy is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends past and present that will forever remember her infectious smile and mermaid hair.
Candy had a sweet generous soul, heart of gold, and loved to laugh. She shared the same quirky sense of humor as her brother David. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite holidays. She spent her last day decorating for Christmas and was disappointed that we needed more lights.
Candy was scheduled to have a procedure on her stomach to improve her diabetic gastroparesis and she was looking forward to eating a Christmas dinner with her family without nausea and vomiting.
Candy will forever be missed. Her earthly body is free from pain and hospitalizations from her illness.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Candy Reed will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning, on Saturday, the 11th day of December 2021 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorials can be directed towards the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation at www2.jdrf.org.
Memorial and cremation services for Candace Michelle Reed are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.
