Charles "Shot" Sibley Obituary

Charles “Shot” Sibley, age 85, of Oakwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, the 22nd day of January 2024, at his home with his loving family by his side.  He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on the 1st day of April 1938 to parents Kerney Otis Sibley and Maude Alma Summers. Mr. Sibley's life was characterized by his unwavering dedication to his work, his faith, and his family.

Mr. Sibley proudly served in the United States Navy for a decade, a period during which he demonstrated the honor and courage that would become hallmarks of his character. After his time in the service, Mr. Sibley devoted over 40 years to the industrial construction and demolition sector, where his hard work, expertise, and leadership left a lasting impact.

A devout member of the Catholic Church in Buffalo, Texas, Mr. Sibley's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He lived his beliefs through his actions, embodying the virtues of love, faithfulness, and thoughtfulness in every aspect of his life.

An avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman, Mr. Sibley found solace and excitement in the great outdoors. His passion for these pursuits was matched by his talent as a pen and ink artist, a skill that allowed him to capture the beauty of the natural world he so cherished.

As a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather Mr. Sibley's greatest joy was his family. He instilled in his children the values of kindness, integrity, and the importance of faith. His guidance and love shaped the lives of those around him, leaving a legacy of cherished memories and lessons that will endure.

He joins in Heaven his parents, Kerney and Maude Sibley; daughter, Cynthia Anne Adams; and brothers, Jerome K. Sibley, and James Michael Sibley.

Mr. Sibley leaves behind his loving wife of 69 years, Carol Sibley, a partnership that was a beacon of mutual respect and affection. Together, they raised a family that included their daughters, Mary Teresa and husband Bill McCain, Charlene Elizabeth Fugler and husband Steve, Kathleen Celeste Studer and husband Tracy, and Christine Elaine, sons, Charles Wayne Sibley, Jr. and wife Anne, Christopher Wade Sibley and wife Laurie. The legacy of their love continued to blossom with twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to Mr. Sibley's life. He also leaves behind his sisters, Beryl Templet, and Cherie Wasyliw; and brother, Lahry Sibley.
