Charlotte Jean Holloway, age 75, a beacon of gentleness and loving kindness, passed away peacefully on Thursday, the 22nd day of August 2024, at Houston Methodist Hospital, Baytown, Texas. Born to the loving William Neal and Willie Sexton on the 25th day of September 1948, in Anderson County, Texas, Charlotte’s life was a testament to the power of love and tenacity.
Mrs. Holloway's journey began in the heart of Anderson County, where she grew up surrounded by the warmth of a close-knit community. Her nurturing spirit led her to a fulfilling career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, where she touched the lives of countless individuals with her gentle care and kindness. Her green thumb and love for flowers and gardening were evident in the vibrant blooms that surrounded her home.
Mrs. Holloway's passion for life was evident through her love of singing and dancing. Her voice, whether lifted in song at church, at community events, or singing loudly in the kitchen, was a source of comfort and joy to those around her. Her eclectic style and over-the-top personality was - one that could not be contained and was as infectious as her warm, reassuring smile.
A lover of life's simple pleasures, Mrs. Holloway sought the warmth of the sun, often basking under its rays to achieve a playful tan, much to the amusement of her friends. She was a competitor at heart, a playful spirit who found joy in the camaraderie of games, always playing with a twinkle in her eye and a ready smile for her opponents.
She is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband Harold Holloway, Sr.
A true matriarch, Mrs. Holloway's pride and joy were her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love with her daughters, Rhonda Barker and husband Lonnie of Baytown, Texas, Kimberly Hollje and husband Larry of Forney, Texas, and Chrystal Holloway of Rosenberg, Texas; her son Harold Holloway and wife Melody of Palestine, Texas; and her brother, Buddy Neal and wife Eva of Elkhart, Texas. Her nurturing spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored deeply.
