Christena Hall Obituary

Christena Eileen Hall, age 43, passed away on Saturday October 10, 2020 near her home in Deer Park, TX.

Although she left her loved ones suddenly, Christena never feared death. She lived her life with joy and happiness all the while knowing that Eternity in Heaven was promised to her.

She worked as a nurse beginning in 2001, where she cared for countless patients with compassion and love. The last ten years of her career, she worked at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast where she was admired and loved by her colleagues and the medical staff.

Her hobbies included visiting the beach, water activities, caring for wild life and cruising. Christena loved tacos and cooking for family and loved ones. She was a highly organized and neat person and took pride in her home, landscaping, and decorating.

Ms. Hall was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Frank Hall and Alpha Eileen Hall, and grandmother, Evalene Nichols Kolb and Christena K. Hall (her namesake). She is survived by her brothers, Johnny Collums and Bobby Collums; by her aunt Eddie Mae Sawyer and her children Jeanie Sawyer Piekarski and husband Lee Piekarski and Joy Sawyer Huizar and husband Charles.  Her aunt Christena Helene Baldree-Alphin and her children Linda Baldree, Ellen Kirkland, Claude Baldree and his spouse Jan Chamorro, along with many close cousins.  She is survived by her loving fiancé, Dean Collins and his sons, Kolton and Kameron Collins; nephews, Justin Collums, Dustin Collums, Dylan Seward; great nieces and nephews, Bentley Collums, Harley Collums, Mia Seward, and Mason Seward.  She is survived by best friend and sister Valeh Ghaemmaghami Garza, husband Leonardo Garza and children Alex and Lilly Garza.  Close friends who she loved and considered family, Harpreet, Raj and Zaara Sharma, Saini Gurvir and Cleopatra Grigsby among many other friends she considered family.  

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 22nd day of October 2020, at Rhone Funeral Home.

A funeral service to celebrate Christena’s life is to be conducted at half past ten o’clock in the morning, on Friday, the 23rd day of October 2020, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow in Pilgrim Cemetery.

Christena was well known to so many who loved her dearly and had family and friends near and far. Her flame will never be extinguished in our hearts and mind.  We will honor her legacy and keep her in our hearts forevermore.
