Mr. Clauis Dwane Lamb, age 94, of Palestine, passed away at his home on Tuesday, the 19th day of January 2021. He has now rejoined the love of his life, Edith, in Heaven. He was born on the 22nd day of June 1926, in Enloe, Texas, to parents Ray and Edres Lamb.
Mr. Lamb enlisted in the Marine Corps during World War II and was assigned to the 3rd and 5th Marine Division. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned home. Mr. Lamb worked 34 years for Exxon Oil Company in Baytown, Texas and overseas. While working for Exxon, Mr. Lamb and his family traveled the world. After retiring, the Lamb’s decided to move and made Palestine their home, almost 48 years ago. While in Palestine, they placed membership with Crockett Road Church of Christ and made many friends. Mr. Lamb enjoyed his retirement tending to his cows and leatherworking. He told the most interesting stories of his travels and when Edith passed away in 2010, not a day went by that Mr. Lamb didn’t miss her and talk of her often.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ray and Edres Lamb; wife of 64 years, Edith Evelyn Lamb; sister, Faye; and his brother, Wendall.
Mr. Lamb is survived by his daughter, Sheree Lynn Lawrence and husband Roger of Colorado; son, David D. Lamb and wife Nuni of Palestine; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening, on Sunday, the 24th day of January 2021 at Rhone Funeral Home.
A funeral service with Military Honors to celebrate Clauis Lamb’s life is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 25th day of January 2021, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Dan Manuel officiating. Following the service, Mr. Lamb will be interred by his wife in Livelyville Cemetery, near Grapeland, Texas.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are David D. Lamb, Ben Rhone, Dwight Franklin, Kurtis Luff, Ricky Luff, and Jack Armstrong. Honorary pallbearer will be Dakota Falks.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards Teresa Armstrong and the loving care she gave Mr. Lamb for the past 14 years and Jayme Fogle with Solaris Hospice for the exceptional care during the last days of Mr. Lamb’s life.
