Colten Arteaga Obituary

Colten Cecil Arteaga, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, the 25th day of June 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas, where he resided with his fiancé, Rocio Leon, at the age of 33. He is now in the presence of our loving Lord and Savior until the day we are all reunited. Colten was born on the 26th day of May 1991 in Austin, Texas, to parents Mario Arteaga and Lisa Lamb.  A proud alumnus of the University of Texas, Colten earned his bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering in 2014. His academic achievements were a testament to his intelligence and passion for math and science. Colten's commitment to excellence extended beyond the classroom, as he served his country in the United States Army for a period of time. His service was characterized by the same dedication and friendliness that he brought to every aspect of his life.

Colten's zest for life was evident in his diverse interests and hobbies. An avid athlete, he found joy in the thrill of running and the camaraderie of competing in marathons. His love for sports was not limited to the track; he enjoyed playing a variety of sports, showcasing his competitive spirit and physical prowess. Colten's intelligence was matched by his adventurous soul, which was reflected in his passion for the great outdoors. Hunting and fishing were not just pastimes but a way for him to connect with nature and find peace.

Music and dancing were also integral parts of Colten's life, providing him with a creative outlet and a way to express his lively personality. His friends and family will fondly remember his impromptu dance moves and the way music always seemed to bring a bright smile to his face.

Colten will be remembered as a man of great intellect, warmth, and adventure. His friendly demeanor made him a beloved figure, and his adventurous spirit inspired all who knew him.

As we bid farewell to Colten Cecil Arteaga, we celebrate the lasting mark he left on the world. His memory will continue to be a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know him, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his many friends and loved ones that he leaves behind including his parents, Mario and Lisa Arteaga, of Austin, Texas; grandparents, Bruce and Linda Williams, of Ben Wheeler, Texas, and Jerry and Jane Lamb, of Pennsylvania; sister, Destiny Arteaga, of Fort Worth, Texas; twin brother, Seth Arteaga and wife Hannah, of Houston, Texas; and his beloved nephews, Archer Arteaga and Austin Arteaga.  Colten also is survived by numerous other family members and a multitude of friends that loved him dearly.  Colten joins his grandparents, Serapio and Hilda Arteaga, in Heaven.

Funeral services to honor the life of Colten Arteaga are to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning, on Wednesday, the 3rd day of July 2024 at Dogwood Hills Baptist Church.  Bro. Kevin Willmott will be officiating the service.  Interment will follow in Myrtle Springs Cemetery in LaRue, Texas.

Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Dogwood Hills Baptist Church.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Seth Arteaga, Landon Woodard, Zach Royce, Ethan McKay, Andrew Longron, and Nick Gullatt.
