With his family by his side, Daniel Ray York, of Elkhart, Texas, entered the Lord’s presence and joined the company of heavenly saints on Wednesday, the 7th day of September 2022. Mr. York was 42 years of age when the Lord called him home. He was born in Baytown, Texas on the 27th day of April 1980 to parents Allen York and Nita Smith York.
Loving husband, devoted dad, and loyal friend are words to best describe Mr. York. He was a dedicated Christian and a member of Triple S Cowboy Church. He had a deep love for his family, and he always enjoyed spending time together with them and making memories. Mr. York also had a love for the outdoors, specifically hunting and fishing. Along with his love for his family and the outdoors, he also had a passion for animals including horses, cows, and his pet dogs.
Mr. York attended trade school after graduating high school. There he learned about the art of horseshoeing and later opened his own business, YB Farm and Ranch Services. Mr. York considerably enjoyed working with his hands and building ordinary and unique items such as fences, bridges, tables, and all the people he met on the job. He was a diligent worker but had a way of finding fun in everything he did. He loved to laugh, and he delighted in making others laugh as well. Mr. York had a love for music, most notably country and western. Mr. York left an imprint on the hearts of many people, and he will never be forgotten.
Mr. York leaves behind his wife of 17 years Lauren York; son, Wyatt York; daughter, Austyn York; parents, Nita Hock and husband Patrick, and Allen York and wife Tina; grandmother, Carol Burgess; brother, Levi York and wife Billie; stepbrother, Michael Taylor; his stepsister, Kimberly Hayes; aunt and uncle, Linda and Charles Sims; and cousins, Donald McKenzie and Kay Drees. He is also survived by his mother and father in-law Pam and Larry Alford and many other family members and numerous friends.
A funeral service to celebrate Daniel York’s life is to be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon, on Sunday, the 11th day of September 2022 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. David Hinson officiating the service. Interment will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
