Daniel "Dan" Abram Ellis

Daniel Abram Ellis, age 80, of Palestine, Texas, left this world for his home in Heaven on Saturday, the 29th day of April 2023.  Mr. Ellis passed away in Tyler, Texas.  He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on the 4th day of September 1942, to parents Albert Ellis and Stella Abrams Ellis.

Mr. Ellis grew up in Arkansas. After graduating from Mabelvale High School in Little Rock, Arkansas he went on to serve in the United States Air Force and married the love of his life, Laura Faber Ellis. He loved serving his country. After leaving the Air Force, Mr. Ellis obtained his master’s degree as a Civil Engineer at the University of Arizona. Mr. Ellis had a long-dedicated career working as a civil engineer. He retired at the age of 72.

He was a generous man and a genuine outdoorsman. Throughout his life, he enjoyed gardening and fishing with his family. He traveled to many places while in the service and continued his travels while working.  Mr. Ellis was a very blessed man with a wonderful family. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Stella Ellis.

Mr. Ellis is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Laura Ellis; daughters, Danielle Ellis, Christine May and husband Paul, and Shannon Lazarine; sons, Eric Ellis, and Garth Ellis. He is also survived by five grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

A memorial service with military honors to celebrate Mr. Ellis’s life will be held at a later date.
