Darlene Ann Koob, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on February 25, 1958, in Monticello, Iowa, she was the cherished daughter of Wendel Ambrosy and Callista Pfab. Darlene's life was a testament to the power of thoughtful compassion, and her legacy is one that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
Darlene was an active member of Trails to Christ Cowboy Church. Her faith was a very important part of her life, and she expressed it through service, fellowship, and mentorship within the church community. Darlene's creative spirit shone brightly as she spent countless hours painting, a hobby that brought her immense joy and peace, and she found that same quiet fulfillment in tending to her beloved plants.
An avid reader, Darlene could often be found with a novel in hand, lost in the stories and adventures within the pages. Her home was a sanctuary filled with the sweet aroma of her famous brownies, a treat that family and friends looked forward to with great anticipation.
She is preceded in death by her parents Wendel and Callista Ambrosy; sister, Karen Kleppe; and brother, Loris Ambrosy.
Darlene is survived by her husband of 47 years, Patrick Koob, who stood by her side in a partnership that was a true example of enduring love. Her spirit will live on through her daughter, Angie Feldman and her husband Joshua; her son, Joshua Koob and his wife Melissa; her brothers, Leonard Ambrosy and his wife Deb, Martin Ambrosy and his wife Carol; and her adored five grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Gale Kleppe and her loving dog, Molly.
A Celebration of Life service is to be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Trails to Christ Cowboy Church with Bro. Mark Norman officiating the service.
Kindly note, for those unable to attend the service, livestreaming will be available via Trails to Christ Cowboy Church’s Facebook page.
