David Langston Obituary

Dr. David Paul Langston, affectionately known as "Doc" to his friends and family, departed this world on May 3, 2025, at the Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Born on a sunny day in McAllen, Texas, in 1952 to the late Wallace and Paula Langston, David's journey through life was marked by a warm, generous spirit that left an indelible impression on everyone he met. He was 72 years old at the time of his passing. Doc was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, doggy dad, and man of faith.

Doc's early years in Texas laid a strong foundation for his character and ambitions. After graduating with honors from Texas A&M University in 1974, where he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets, he followed his heart into the field of dentistry. His passion for helping others shone through his work, and he became a beloved figure in his community, known for his skilled hands and compassionate bedside manner.

Doc's commitment to service extended beyond his dental practice. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, bringing his expertise and kindness to those in uniform. His dedication to his nation was matched only by his dedication to his faith, family, and friends.

Those who knew Doc will remember him for his loving nature, his quick wit, and his remarkable intelligence. His humor was a source of joy, his generosity knew no bounds, and his liveliness made every gathering brighter. Doc's legacy is one of laughter, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.

Although he is preceded in death by his parents and his cherished wife, Rita Langston, Doc's spirit lives on through his adoring family. He is survived by his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Jason Ristow, and his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Megan Langston, Doc’s brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Sue Langston, who will all miss him deeply. His grandchildren, Lorenzo, Caleb, and Garrett, will carry forward the memories of their doting grandfather. David also leaves behind stepchildren, Kristen Sarpalius and Tomas Sanz and their children, Margo and Sam; Celeste Sarpalius and her children Jack and Juliet; and Robert and Krista Sarpalius and their children, Lilian and Landy.
