David Carroll Reeder, Sr.

David Carroll Reeder, Sr., age 58, of Elkhart, Texas, left this world for his eternal home in Heaven on Tuesday, the 17th day of August 2021.  David was born in Palestine, Texas, on the 14th day of November 1962 to parents Billy Reeder and Mary Defacio Reeder.

David is a United States Marine Corps Veteran and served in the Multinational Peace Keeping Force in Beirut in 1982.  He worked as a paramedic for Palestine Regional Medical Center and later worked at Allegiance EMS in College Station, Texas.  David was a Trustee at Sheridan Terrace Baptist Church in Palestine where he spent a lot of his time doing the Lord’s work.  He enjoyed reading about the Middle East, Israel, and the Bible.  His grandchildren affectionately referred to him as “Dandy” and they stole his heart from the minute each one made their presence in the world.  David left a positive impression on his family and friends that will never be forgotten.    

David reunites in Heaven with his parents, Billy and Mary Reeder, and brother, John Reeder.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Kellie Reeder; daughters, Krystal McConnell and husband J.T. of Grapeland, Joy Motes and husband Jay of Palestine; sons, David Reeder, Jr. and wife Chrystal of Palestine, Jacob McCann and wife Melodie of Porter Springs; and his brother, James Reeder and wife Susan.  David also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Kameryn, Trentyn, Bentlee, Joselyn, Corie, William, Brylee, Barrett, and David III. 

A memorial service with Military Honors to celebrate the life of David Reeder is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 28th day of August 2021 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jacob Richardson officiating. 

Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
