After a courageous battle with cancer, Deanna Gail Chapman, age 60, of Palestine, departed this Earth on Tuesday, the 8th day of September 2020, to live with her Lord and Savior in Heaven. Deanna was born in Tyler, Texas, on the 22nd day of January 1960, to parents Jessy Darwin Chapman and Mary Ann Carpender Chapman.
Deanna was a 1978 Graduate of Palestine High School. She worked for over 33 years as a nurse, and 18 of those years she spent as a trauma nurse. Deanna last worked for UTMB at the Michael Unit before her health declined. Deanna loved animals and people and would often host foreign exchange students. Her passions included traveling, golf, baseball and bowling. Deanna was a faithful Christian and a member of Crockett Road Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessy and Mary Chapman.
Deanna is survived by her fur babies, Batterman and Punkin; brother, Mike Chapman and wife Debbie of Doddridge, Arkansas; nephews, Chance Chapman and wife Nichole of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Riley Fincher and wife Stephanie of Texarkana, Texas; niece, Maggie Hargis and husband Greg of Texarkana, Texas; great nieces and nephews, Eason Chapman, Sawyer Grace Chapman, Landon Fincher, and Lauren Fincher. She is also survived by her loving family at Crockett Road Church of Christ.
A funeral service to celebrate Deanna Chapman’s life is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning, on Saturday, the 12th day of September 2020, at Crockett Road Church of Christ with Dan Manuel officiating.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation and share memories of Deanna from nine o’clock in the morning until the commencement of service at Crockett Road Church of Christ.
Following the funeral service, at three o’clock in the afternoon, all are invited to Mt. Sterling Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Texas to lay Deanna to rest.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Glen Tunstall, Cody Tunstall, Canon Tunstall, Ty Tunstall, Taner Tunstall and Tim Dunham.

Deanna’s family is deeply grateful to the Gardner Addition friends and family for their love and support, and to Heart to Heart Hospice and M.D. Anderson Staff for the loving care they provided.
