Deanna Darlene (Munson) Snider

On June 10, 2021, Deanna Darlene Snider, age 80, of Elkhart, Texas, passed away in Palestine, Texas at Palestine Regional Medical Center.

Deanna is survived by her children, James Burrell, Linda Sullivan and husband Jody, Kim Pharis and husband Carlos, Greg Snider and wife Twila, Michele Torrez and husband Jerry, Heather Williams and husband Casey; siblings, Judy Michael, Dennis Munson and wife Patricia, Sharon Rash, Connie Yost and husband Roney, Cathy Baden, Shelia Vinson and husband Thomas, Rick Munson and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Chris Burrell, Katie Malina, Samantha Jordan, Matthew Sullivan, Maddison Mayhugh, Michael Meadows, Jeffery Snider, Jennifer Snider, Jerry Torrez, Charles Torrez, Brian Torrez and Reagan Snider, as well as 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband Coy D. Snider; son, Jeffery D. Snider; parents, Vernon Munson and Mary Elizabeth Landers Munson; brother, Wayne Munson and wife Patsy; grandson, Jody Sullivan Jr.; great-grandson, Nathaniel Torrez; and brothers-in-law, Charles Baden, and Reed Michael.

Deanna was born on September 7, 1940, in Handcock, Maryland. She graduated from Handcock High School in 1958, and later in life after raising her children, she attended Trinity Valley Community College where she graduated Phi Theta Kappa in 1997 with a degree in accounting. A divorcee with two small children, she married Coy Snider on November 9, 1963, in Washington DC. They went on to have five more children.  She was a stay-at-home mother and an active member of the Elkhart Seventh Day Adventist Church. For many years she helped with vacation Bible schools and community outreach programs until her health would not allow it.  She was an avid reader who loved the knowledge and blessings she received from studying her Bible and going to church.

A memorial service for Deanna is scheduled at the Elkhart Adventist Church on July 11, 2021, at 10:00 in the morning.
