Diane Cretsinger, of Palestine, Texas, joined our loving Lord and Savior after a long and courageous battle against cancer on Friday, the 16th day of May 2025. She was 64 years of age. Diane was born on the 21st day of July 1960 in Palestine, Texas, to parents Jimmy Douglas and Gladys Wilbanks Douglas.
Diane leaves behind her three sons, Marcus Cretsinger and wife Mindy of Palestine, Texas, Justin Cretsinger of Centerville, Texas, and Shane Cretsinger of Palestine, Texas; sisters, Jackie Ferrel and husband John, Tammy Matthews and husband John Mark; brother, Dale Douglas; and her brother-in-law, Phillip Cretsinger and wife Darla. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Cody Parker, Kendal Cretsinger, Lacie Dawn Nuckolls, Calli Cretsinger, Kadye Cretsinger, Ely Landon Beil, and Jasliey Elise Cretsinger, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. Diane is preceded in death by her parents Jimmy and Gladys Douglas, brother Joel Douglas, the love of her life for 35 years whom she built a life and family, Marlin Cretsinger, and his parents, Billy Earl and Virginia Cretsinger.
Diane had a deep love for life, a zealous affection for her family, a passion for reading books, and a gift of helping other people in their time of need. Diane found satisfaction in serving others throughout her entire life. Before her family’s store, Cretsinger Store, closed, she would help her family with daily operations around the store. Diane was a charter member of the Westside Volunteer Fire Department, where she volunteered as a certified EMT for many years.
Diane had a heart of gold and a passionate love for the Lord. Diane was involved with Tres Dias, and she was a member of Broyles Chapel Baptist Church, where she could be found serving in various roles including Sunday School teacher and missionary work to New Hampshire where she organized a Vacation Bible School for children. She was also an advocate for the American Red Cross and Relay for Life, both organizations that she held dear to her heart. Diane was an exceptionally loved mother, “Dainey”, sister, daughter, and friend who served others until she no longer could. Her presence will be missed daily, and her love will be felt forever.
Friends are invited to a visitation from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 21st day of May 2025, at Broyles Chapel Baptist Church.
