Dianne Smith “MaMaw”, age 83, of Oakwood, Texas entered eternal rest with our Lord and Savior on Monday, September 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 23, 1942, in Nineveh, Texas to parents George Woodard and Fay Bush Woodard. Dianne's life was a testament to the power of kindness and devotion. Her radiant smile and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Dianne's journey began in a home filled with love and faith, which laid the foundation for the remarkable woman she would become. Her family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished for generations. She is survived by her adoring daughter, Dianna Smith Kilgore, and her husband Arion; her sons, Jack C. Smith Jr. and his wife Tina, and Mark Smith and his wife Nancy. Dianne's grandchildren, Monica, Trey, Heather, Tara, April, Garrett, and Luke, along with 18 great-grandchildren, one on the way, and 4 great-great grandchildren, will hold dear their memories of her. Dianne's life was also enriched by numerous nieces and nephews, who will continue to be inspired by her enduring wisdom and grace.
She is preceded in death by her parents George and Fay Woodard, and her beloved husband Jack C. Smith, Sr.
A longtime member of Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood, Texas, Dianne found solace and joy in her faith. She was a steadfast pillar in her church community, sharing her love for the Lord and the teachings of the Bible with all who crossed her path. As a pastor's wife for many years, she honored her husband's calling and served her congregation with humility and strength.
Dianne's interests were a reflection of her compassionate soul. She was an avid reader of the Bible. Her culinary skills brought warmth to many gatherings, and her laughter was a welcome sound in any room. She was known for her great sense of humor, which, along with her peacemaking nature, made her a friend to all. Dianne's love for animals was evident in her delight in watching the birds and caring for her pets. Above all, she was a happy person who wanted others to know the love of God, and she lived her life as a testament to that love.
Funeral services to honor Dianne Smith’s life are to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood, Texas with Bro. Jack Smith officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Oakwood, Texas.
Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Calvary Christian Center.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Trey Smith, Garrett Smith, Luke Smith, Danny Cantrell, Randy Ayres, and Arlie Smith.
