Donald Martin Schoenleber, Jr. age 76, passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2026, with his loving wife by his side in Palestine, Texas after a short illness. He was born January 5, 1950, in Alton, Illinois, to parents Donald Martin Schoenleber, Sr. and Norma Lou Truitt Schoenleber.
Don lived his youth in Alaska and Japan with his military family. They moved to Colorado where he lived and graduated from Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He then joined the Colorado Forest Service and worked with the Elm Disease Team.
Don then enlisted in the US Army April 30, 1969. Don served as an Army Air Traffic Control Specialist in Vietnam with the 1st Aviation Brigade.
Don after leaving the Army lived in Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado Springs. Don then worked as a General Manager for Webster Feed Lots. Don raised cattle of his own and showed horses.
Don established his family and was a devoted father. He is survived by his wife Diena Bulman, Schoenleber, son Jerod, wife Libbie and 4 grandchildren. Daughter Kara and grandson, and son Brant, wife Rashelle, and 2 grandchildren. His family was truly the center of his life. Don loved all wildlife and fishing with his family
Don moved to and loved home in Wyoming. He managed a large cattle ranch and feed lot in Casper, Wyoming for many years.
Don worked as an Alternative Suspension Specialist for the Douglas Wyoming School System.
Don then entered the Law Enforcement world. Worked for a short time with the Natrona Colorado Sheriff’s Office, the Wyoming State Parks, and retired as Undersheriff with the Converse Colorado Sheriff’s Office.
Don was a proud 32° Mason, and a Shriner. He loved riding his motorcycles and rode with the Harley-Davidson Owners groups, 24 -7 Emergency Group, Blue Knights, and the Christian Motorcyclists Association, Riding for the Son.
Don & Diena loved the adventures of travel. They travelled all over the US and Internationally.
Don was a member of the Court Drive Church in Palestine, Texas. A celebration of life will be held at this church at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Organizations are appreciated.
