Donald Weisinger Obituary

Donald Gene Weisinger, of Elkhart, Texas, left this world for his heavenly home on Friday, the 29th day of May 2026, at the age of 70. He was born in Crockett, Texas on the 5th day of January 1956 to the late Donald Lincoln Weisinger and Wilma “Lucille” Koepnick Weisinger.

Donald devoted over 40 years of his working life to Nucor before retiring, where he served as a deck plant supervisor. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his dedication, reliability, and strong sense of responsibility. Over the course of those many years, he developed friendships that he cherished and, in many ways, they became family. Donald valued those relationships deeply.

Outside of work, Donald found joy in the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish, and he shared these memories with his family and close friends. Donald also enjoyed traveling with his wife, and those trips created memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Donald had a deep love for his homeplace, and it remained a special part of who he was throughout his life. He appreciated the comfort and familiarity of the place he called home, and he found joy in the things that connected him to his roots.

Family was at the center of Donald’s world. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly, and he took great pride in each of them. His table was a gathering place where love was shared freely, and most all meals were provided around the table he grew. Those meals were more than food, they were moments of fellowship, warmth, and togetherness that reflected the heart of the man he was.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Ann Weisinger; and brother, Donnie Ray Weisinger.

He is survived by his loving family including his wife of almost 51 years Gwen Weisinger; sons, Jeremy Weisinger, Jason Weisinger; sister, Barbara Lynn Brown and husband Greg; brother, Billy Oscar Weisinger and wife Sherry; sister-in-law, Lanita Weisinger; grandchildren, Brycelyn Weisinger, Chloe Weisinger, Sara Warner, Lissa Kurtz, Jayden Kurtz, Blaine Hardy; and great grandchild, Stormden Weisinger. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and coworkers who will forever cherish his memory.
