Donald "Glen" Shiflet Obituary

Donald Glen Shiflet, known affectionately as Glen to his friends and family, left this world on Sunday, the 29th day of December 2024, at the age of 73. Born on the 3rd day of September 1951, in Borger, Texas, Glen was the cherished son of Billy Joe Shiflet and Betty Jean Winton. His life was a tapestry of deep family bonds, enduring friendships, and a love for the simple pleasures in life.

Glen's passions were a reflection of his appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He was an avid golfer, finding peace and camaraderie on the greens. Fishing and boating were also cherished pastimes, providing him with countless hours of reflection and tranquility. His love for Harley Davidson motorcycles spoke to his adventurous spirit and his desire to feel the freedom of the open road.

A man of intellect and strategy, Glen loved to play chess, a game that mirrored his approach to life—thoughtful, patient, and always with an eye on the broader picture. His independent nature was complemented by his understanding heart, making him a pillar of strength in his community.

Glen's wisdom was a gift to his family and to all who knew him. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, his words carried weight and meaning. His advice was sought after, and his insights were treasured. He had a unique ability to see the heart of a matter and to guide others towards a path of understanding and resolution.

He is preceded in death by his parents Billy and Betty Shiflet.

Glen is survived by a loving family who will forever hold him dear in their hearts. His daughter, Deidria Allen, and her husband, Len; his son, Daniel Cody Shiflet, and his wife, Madeline; his sister, Robin Dianne Shiflet; his sister, Linda Sue Ormston; and his brother, Jerry Lee Shiflet. Glen's legacy will live on through his cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Seth, Grafton, MyLen, and D'Angelo Allen, as well as his adored great-grandchild, Jayce Allen and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glen’s family will honor his wishes to be cremated and celebrate his life at a later date.
