Dorothy N. Warren, age 74, of Palestine, Texas, joined her loving Lord and Savior on Tuesday, the 4th day of June 2024. Mrs. Warren was born on the 22nd day of September 1949 in Houston County, Texas, to parents Arthur Jones and Dorothy Patton Jones. A proud graduate of Elkhart High School, Mrs. Warren dedicated her professional life to serving her community as a correctional officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Alongside her professional endeavors, Mrs. Warren was a devoted member of Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where her faith and fellowship were cornerstones of her life.
Mrs. Warren was a woman of many talents and interests. In her younger years, she was an artistic soul who found joy and expression in quilting, a craft she pursued with passion until arthritis made it difficult. She never lost her love for art, often sharing stories of the beautiful patterns she created. An avid bass fisher, Mrs. Warren cherished the tranquility of the water and the thrill of the catch. Her love for the outdoors was only matched by her enthusiasm for family reunions, where her laughter and presence were a highlight for everyone.
Known for her strict adherence to rules, Mrs. Warren instilled a sense of discipline and integrity in all her endeavors. Yet, it was her generosity that truly defined her. Mrs. Warren gave freely of her time, resources, and love, always putting others before herself. Her creative spirit, loving nature, and generous heart made her a cherished figure to all who knew her.
Mrs. Warren's legacy is one of love, creativity, and generosity. She was a loving matriarch, a generous friend, and a creative spirit whose memory will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her unwavering love and the joy she brought to others will continue to resonate and inspire others, including her son, Kevin Warren and wife Crystal; stepsons, Ray Warren and wife DeeDe, and Jackie Warren. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kayla Warren and Cody Warren; great grandchild, Landyn Blackwell; her beloved dog, Candy, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hosie Warren, who passed away in 2008; stepson, Jimmy (James) Warren; sister, Sybil Giddens; brothers, Charles Jones, John Jones, and Larry Jones.
