Eddie Sustaita, of Palestine, Texas, passed away peacefully on the 10th day of July 2024, in Tyler, Texas. He was 76 years of age at the time of his passing. Born on the 14th day of February 1948, in Houston, Texas, to parents Raymond Sustaita and Janie Mongonia, Eddie's life was marked by his warmth, friendliness, and the exceptional skill of his hands.
Eddie's journey as a master electrician began with a passion for understanding how things worked and a desire to solve complex problems. This passion led him to establish his own business, Astro Electric, which he owned and operated with distinction. His work not only illuminated the homes and lives of his clients but also shone a light on the kind of dedicated professional he was.
Apart from his professional endeavors, Eddie's interests painted the picture of a man who loved the simple pleasures in life. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace in the quiet of the woods while hunting and the gentle lapping of the water while fishing. His love for the Houston Astros was as enduring as the sport itself, and he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team.
Eddie's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He cherished the times spent playing cards with them and the shared excitement of a casino adventure. His home was often filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of his presence.
Those who knew Eddie will remember him as a loving soul, a friendly face in the crowd, and as handy as they come. His legacy is not just in the circuits and wires he expertly crafted but in the hearts of all who loved him. Eddie's memory will continue to guide and inspire, much like the steady light he spent his life ensuring for others.
Eddie leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Kathryn Almond Sustaita; sons, Tracy Tucker Sustaita and Eddie Sustaita, Jr.; daughter, Regina Rhone and husband Jeremy; stepdaughters, Wanda Lambright, Dianne Johnson, and Toni Slider; sisters, Darlene Brown and Jeanette Lambright; brother, Tony Sustaita; seven grandchildren; twelve step grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; twenty-one step great-grandchildren; and many friends.
