Surrounded by her family, Beth Freeman, of Palestine, passed away peacefully on Sunday, the 21st day of March 2021 at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Mrs. Freeman was 81 years of age. She was born on the 8th day of December 1939 to parents Herman Brumley and Vera Elizabeth Huffman Brumley.
Mrs. Freeman was born in Palestine, Texas and graduated from Palestine High School in 1958. She was very active in school activities and was crowned as the Homecoming Queen her senior year. Before her retirement, she worked for several hospitals as the human resources director. Currently, she was employed as the Crockett Road Church of Christ secretary. She loved her family very much and always enjoyed cooking and making the holidays extra special. Mrs. Freeman also loved her church family. She found great joy in participating in Ladies Bible Class, Bunko, and helping with the “Visual Aid Brigade”. Mrs. Freeman will leave a void in many hearts but is now rejoicing in heaven with her husband Fred.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Freddy “Fred” Joe Freeman; mother, Vera Brumley; father, Herman Brumley; stepmother, Lorene Jeffcoat Brumley; and sister-in-law, Cherry Freeman.
Mrs. Freeman leaves behind her sons, Kenneth Troy Attaway, Jeffery Craig Attaway and wife Elizabeth, all of Palestine; sister, Lynda Brumley Allen and husband Dennis of Weatherford; brothers, Joel Brumley and wife Jane of Palestine, William “Bud” Brumley and wife Marilyn of Aledo; stepsisters, Rita Swanson, Lynn Ludlam and Joan Midkiff; sister-in-law, Dorris Brumley of Palestine. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew Attaway and wife Stacey, Nathan Attaway, Briley Pruitt, Kylie Battie and husband Taylor, Monica Attaway, Grant Attaway; great-grandchildren, Caleb Attaway, Karley Attaway, Hailey Attaway, Joe Pruitt, Juliet Pruitt, and Jaxson Pruitt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Freeman’s life is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 25th day of March 2021 at Crockett Road Church of Christ with Dan Manuel officiating.
