Elva Janet Kimbrough, age 83, of Palestine, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, the 18th day of January 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Houma, Louisiana on the 12th day of March 1940 to parents Victor E. Keller and Molly Champagne Keller. Mrs. Kimbrough, a woman of grace and compassion, left this world peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.
Mrs. Kimbrough's journey began with her dedication to healing and care, as evidenced by her earning a bachelor's degree in nursing. Her career as a registered nurse at Palestine Regional Medical Center was marked by an unwavering commitment to her patients, providing comfort and care to those in need with a gentle touch and a reassuring presence.
Beyond her professional life, Mrs. Kimbrough was a devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and filling her life with purpose. She lived her faith, embodying the love and kindness that she believed in so deeply.
An artistic soul, Mrs. Kimbrough found joy in the beauty of creation, often expressing her inner world through various forms of art. Her creativity was yet another way she connected with and enriched the lives of those around her.
Her spirit, a beacon of warmth and tenderness, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mrs. Kimbrough's memory will continue to inspire and guide us, as we hold her close in our hearts forever.
She is preceded in death by her parents Victor and Molly Keller; husband, Warren “Gene” Kimbrough; son, Keith Eric Kimbrough; brother, Victor W. Keller; and her sister, Charlotte Bourg.
Mrs. Kimbrough is survived by her son Jerry F. Kimbrough, of San Antonio, Texas; grandson, Brent Eric Kimbrough, of San Antonio, Texas; and brother, Robert M. Keller, of Houma, Louisiana.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 25th day of January 2024 at Rhone Funeral Home.
A funeral mass is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 26th day of January 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery.
