Eugene Bryant Thomason

Eugene Bryant Thomason, of Palestine, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on September 27, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 8, 1941, in Los Angeles County, California, Bryant was the cherished son of Eugene Maurice Thomason and Wanda Piotrowski Thomason.

Bryant was a man of many interests and talents, which included archery, hunting, training Labrador retrievers for field trial competition, gunsmithing, and soapbox derby racing. His passion for these hobbies was not only a source of personal enjoyment but also a means of connecting with others and sharing his knowledge and skills.

Bryant was a devoted husband to his wife of 61 years, Judy Thomason, a loving father to his son, David Thomason (Sonja), and daughter, Karyn Ware (Tim). His legacy of love continues through his three adoring grandchildren, Andy, Natalie, and Madison who will miss his gentle guidance and unwavering support. Bryant was a beloved brother to Marlene Spooner (Jim), Diana Elder, and Kathy LeeBrick. His life was enriched by their shared memories and unbreakable bonds. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Barbara Thomason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Wanda Thomason, his sister, Saundra Taylor, and his brother, William Maurice Thomason.

A gathering to honor and celebrate Bryant’s life will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, November 14, 2025, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.

Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
