Floyd Willmott Obituary

Floyd Willmott, age 82, went to be with his Savior on Friday, the 28th day of February 2020, surrounded by his family. He was born on the 22nd day of July 1937, in Prospect Valley, Colorado in a small farm home. Floyd served 2 years in the United States Army before returning to the family farm. He owned an egg-ranch in Colorado as well as a family restaurant. He moved to Texas from Colorado 41-years ago this week. He continued to farm and manage many local restaurants in Palestine, TX. He was a hard-worker and was proud that he raised his boys with a strong work ethic. He loved his animals, being outdoors working in his garden, and tending to his cattle. He took great joy in having his grandsons along with him. He also loved to cook and enjoyed teaching his granddaughters family recipes. He was devoted to his family and displayed it by taking care of his Aunt, Leona Palomino, for many years. He loved sitting on his porch and visiting with his family.

He is survived by his sons, Troy Willmott and wife Kim, Kevin Willmott and fiancé Robin Kelley, and Brent Willmott; grandchildren, Dustin and Jennifer Willmott, Kent and Shayla Willmott, Brittany and JT Todd, Kristin and Trent Dickson, and Shauna and Joseph Ball; long-time friend, Gerald Butler; sister, Stacey Sargent and husband Vaughn; cousin, Larry Alden and wife Colette. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Kent Willmott, daughter-in-law Shelia Willmott, his mom Freida Becker and husband Harry Becker, and his dad Wes Willmott and wife Lois Willmott.
