Garvis “Eloise” Johnson
Santa Fe, Texas
Sunrise: February 24, 1934
Sunset: September 4, 2025
Garvis “Eloise” Johnson, of Elkhart, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, at the age of 91. She was the daughter of Homer Tyler and LaMerle Tyler Crow. She is now celebrating in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Eloise was a lady of gracious hospitality, a heart for encouraging others, and a home that embraced family and friends. She was a loving and passionate wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of many with her kindness and grace. She had the most beautiful tender heart.
Eloise enjoyed her early years as Little League “Team Mother” and being Santa Fe P.T.A. President was a job she took great pride in. She was always involved in her children’s school activities, and she retired from U.T.M.B. Bookstore. Eloise was a lifelong member of Arcadia Baptist Church. We called her “Gran”, and she will always be our favorite “Red Head”.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ollie Johnson, sisters Wanda Underwood, Melissa Riehl and her brother Homer Tyler, Jr.
Eloise is survived by her son Tom Johnson (Spring); daughters, LeeAnn Johnson (Lowell) and Connie Davis (Milton); sisters, Paula Johnston and Dancie Teague; grandchildren, Britt Davis (Kristen), Brad Davis (Jenn), Josh Lefevre (Susan), Cal Johnson; and her great-grandchildren, Matthew Pilkington, Grant Davis, Madison Pilkington, Brooke Davis, Sommer Davis, Cannon Davis, Jet Johnson, Will Lefevre, and Isabella Lefevre. She also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Above all our mother was a Christian lady who loved the Lord. Her crown is heavy for all the good she did on this earthly planet. We know we will see you again in Heaven when the trumpet sounds for us.
At mom’s request, there will not be any services.
